House Judiciary Committee ranking member Jamie Raskin (D-MD) is asking FBI Director Kash Patel to investigate President Donald Trump‘s nominee for U.S. attorney in Washington, D.C., Ed Martin, after he failed to disclose more than 150 Russian media appearances.
Raskin called on the FBI director to open the investigation after the Washington Post reported last week that Martin did not detail that he appeared in RT, formerly Russia Today, and Sputnik more than 150 times between 2016 and 2024 in required paperwork for the Senate Judiciary Committee.
Martin, who is the interim U.S. attorney, only disclosed 16 appearances during that period, saying, “Despite my searches, there may be other materials that I have been unable to identify, find, or remember.”
