President Trump has promised to consider a settlement for the family of the woman who was shot dead by a police officer as she attempted to climb through a smashed window in the US Capitol building on January 6, 2021.
Trump said he would “look at” whether the government should reach a settlement with the family of Ashli Babbitt and added that members of his administration were also considering the idea of compensation for those who were convicted and jailed for their actions on January 6.
Babbitt, 35, was shot by a police officer as she tried to climb through the broken glass pane of a door barricaded by officers who were attempting to evacuate members of Congress from the chamber of the US House of Representatives.
