Recently released documents have drawn widespread criticism of former President Biden’s National Strategy for Countering Domestic Terrorism, which targeted rather than protected law-abiding Americans.
The Director of National Intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard, released the documents after pressure from the Trump-linked rights group American First Legal (AFL), which demanded to know how far the government overreached its authority in stifling Americans’ rights to self-expression.
AFL had suggested that the Biden administration categorized “disfavored views” as misinformation or hate speech. Tech partnerships and global cooperation played a critical role in targeting law-abiding Americans, effectively creating a systemic surveillance state.
Gabbard thanked AFL for their incredible work, and promised to release more documents exposing the former administration’s trampling of law-abiding Americans’ rights.
“Thank you for your work. We are already on this, and look forward to declassifying this and other instances of the government being weaponized against Americans,” she tweeted.
