House Speaker Mike Johnson dropped a bombshell Friday, claiming President Donald Trump served as an FBI informant to help bring down Jeffrey Epstein.
Johnson made the unprecedented assertion while defending Trump’s recent description of the Epstein saga as a “hoax.” Speaking to reporters at the Capitol, Johnson insisted Trump wasn’t dismissing Epstein’s crimes but rather Democratic attempts to link him to the disgraced financier.
“He was an FBI informant to try to take this stuff down,” Johnson said, Live Now Fox reported. “The president knows, and has great sympathy for the women who suffered these unspeakable harms. It’s detestable to him.”
No official has previously claimed Trump worked with the FBI on the Epstein case. The White House hasn’t responded to Johnson’s statement.
