BREAKING: Suspect in Charlie Kirk assassination identified as 22-year-old Tyler Robinson: report

On Friday morning, President Donald Trump announced that "I think, with a high degree of certainty, we have him," referring to the suspect wanted for the Wednesday assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk. Law enforcement sources told the New York Post that the suspect arrested was 22-year-old Utah local Tyler Robinson.

Trump revealed in the Fox and Friends interview that it was "somebody who was very close to" the suspect who turned him in. "Somebody that was very close to him said, 'Hmm, that's him.' And essentially went to the father, who went to a US Marshal, who was fantastic, by the way. And the person was involved with law enforcement, but was a person of faith, a minister, and brought him to a US Marshal who was fantastic."

FBI Salt Lake City released additional photos, as well as video, from the time of the shooting depicting the suspect. The surveillance video, timestamped 12:23 pm local time, showed a person dressed in dark clothing running across a building rooftop at Utah Valley University, where Kirk was hosting an event. The suspect is seen lowering himself off the roof before running away.
